Terms And Conditions
1, All Vehicles & Drivers will be fully registered with Sedgemoor District Council (SDC), and will abide by the governing rules & regulations in force at the time.
2. All Hackney Carriage jobs will be priced by the meter - as required and calibrated by SDC. Each vehicle will clearly display a current copy of the price list as provided by SDC.
3. Our telephone adviser has the authority to agree a set price for any job in advance if this is felt appropriate. Please discuss when telephoning. This price will NOT be greater
than the meter price, had the meter been applied.
4. Any work cancelled late (i.e. giving less than an hour's notice) will be subject to a cancellation charge, which is 50% of the job price or five pounds, whichever is greater.
5. Please be aware that all our vehicles have a no smoking, eating or drinking policy. There is no exception to this so please do not ask the driver to change this policy.
6. Any offensive, abusive, threatening or physical behaviour towards either the driver or company property will not be tolerated, and the driver has the absolute right to terminate
the journey at any time should this occur, irrespective of whether the journey has reached it's destination. This includes any actions likely to damage or soil the vehicle. This also
includes any actions that impair the safety either of the vehicle or the journey (for example, refusing to sit in a seat provided with the correct seatbelt fastened throughout the
duration of the journey). If monies have been paid, it will not be refunded. Abusive behaviour will also be reported to the police, and the offenders will be banned from using our
services indefinately. The decision of the driver will be final in all cases.
7. Any soiling of the vehicle will result in a soiling charge being levied, which will be payable immediately. The charge levied by Express Taxis will be the maximum set by
Sedgemoor District Council (currently one hundred pounds). This charge is not inclusive of the journey fare, which must be paid separately. The maximum charge will be levied
for all caes of vehicle soiling, regardless of extent of damage. This is to ensure as many costs as possible are recovered for not only cleaning of the vehicle, but also allowing for
the time the vehicle is off the road.
8. Express Taxis have the right to install CCTV in any of the vehicles, and also have the right to retain CCTV Footage electronically, not exceeding a period of one year for the
purposes of crime prevention. If CCTV is fitted in a vehicle, there will be notices within the vehicle advising passengers of this. The driver will not have access either to the
controls of the camera/s or the hard drive storage unit and under no circumstances will the CCTV be turned off. Express Taxis have the right to release any recorded footage to
either Sedgemoor District Council or the Police upon request. If footage is requested by another 3rd party, the decision relating to the release of this information will be taken
based on Data Protection legislation and the reason for the request/validity of the 3rd party. This decision may be taken in conjunction with the Licensing Officer at Sedgemoor
District Council.
